Salah Extends Statement to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
He was omitted from a vital match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and starting to win games.”
