Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, as stated by an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to turn back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
