Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
