Dominant Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.
The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a record £11m in earnings.
She received almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
